Who We Are

The Lucknow Branch of IAP was formed way back in 1970’s. It’s activities were mainly revived in 1990’s and was named as Lucknow District Unit (LDU) of Indian Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Indu Wakhlu was the 1st president of revived branch and Dr. Archana Kumar was 1st secretary. Since then there was no looking back under the guidance of Dr. Zeenat Ansari, Dr. Rashmi Kumar, Dr. KL Srivastava , Dr YC Govil , Dr. Savitri Thakur, Dr. Shally Awasthi, Dr. Satish Chandra, Dr. Mala Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Niranjan, Dr. SN Singh, Dr. Piyali Bhattacharya, and Dr. Shrish Bhatnagar. LDU-IAP was formally registered as Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics (LAP) in 2011. A separate logo and official website was launched in 2013. At present there are more than 350 registered members in Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics.

LAP has been active in organizing monthly and bimontly Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs. Various IAP programs like Breast Feeding Week, Adolescent Health Week, ORS Week, Thalassemia Day, Mission Kishore Uday, and a lot many other activities were carried out. UP-PEDICON was organized in 2006, 2013, 2019 and 2024 with record number of registered delegates.

Eveey year LAP organizes various CME’s, Workshop and Conferences which will be updated on website from time to time. Keeping with the latest trend LAP website has been redesigned and made interactive in 2018.
